Vertigo

This sign is actually an artwork by award winning artist Douglas Gordon. 

Film fans and particularly Hitchcock fans may recognise the sign from the movie Vertigo.   Over the years it has appeared at 3 different locations in Glasgow.  One of the letters actually flickers just like it did in the movie.

I've cheated a bit here for this picture.  In real life the sign is reversed so you can only ready it properly when you see it reflected in a window or steel panel.

And the actor who played a retired policeman with vertigo the movie  .....................   Jimmy Stewart.
