A Field Trip!

We went to Bainbridge Island today to have lunch at an old friend’s house and meet his new girlfriend.  It’s a ferry ride away and not all that easy to get to because of construction… so we thot we’ll spend the day, go to the art museum in the morning and perhaps the great garden reserve after lunch.   Well wrong day to go to the museum..changing shows and I couldn’t even visit my favorite part, the artists’ books room which I thot was always open.   Altho we keep in touch, we’ve not been to Don's home for at least 20 years…so many memories there of his first wife my good friend who died in 2001.  It was a fabulous lunch that he cooked and we had a lovely time on the deck talking so of course it got too late to do anything else.   No matter.   I’m going to post his “back yard”  for nostalgia's sake -you can barely see H and Don out there having collected some apples from his “orchard”  but one should have been able to see the water and across Manzanita Bay in upper left…it was too smokey!   Extras of lunch and a view of smokey Seattle and the football stadium from the ferry.  (the air quality was  rated “unhealthy” …there is “very unhealthy” and “dangerous” after this.
