Mackerel Sky
It was such a beautiful sky this morning.
However after lunch the rain started and it was a quick dash into the garden to pick my washing in.
This photo was taken from the car park at the farm shop. Such beautiful cloud formations.
You can see the sun shining on the roof of the long low buildings where the rhubarb will be forced this winter. It looks like glass, but that is because the roofs are wet.
Once the crowns have had some frost on them they will be dug up and taken into the sheds, where they grow in complete darkness, and are harvested by candle light.
Thus we then have those delicious delicate pale pink stems after Christmas.
