Diamond Wedding Celebrations

We have all arrived at Center Parcs in Elveden, to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary for Jon's parents John and Win. Their anniversary was yesterday, but this weekend we have all come together to share in this amazing milestone.

The different branches of the family arrived over the course of the day, and as Center Parc virgins, Jon and I were excited to get here and see what all the fuss is about. We stopped for coffee and toast at Swaffham on our way, and arrived eventually at 12. Jenny and family just pipped us to the post, and we caught up with them quite quickly, at Cafe Rouge, in the centre of the park, where they enjoyed some lunch and we all had drinks (I had a huge pink gin, and Jon had a beer) - walking back to our car we were a little wobbly, I must confess, as we hadn't eaten. But no harm done!

Jon and I collected a mobility scooter we had booked for Jon's dad, and Jon had great fun driving it back to the lodge.

We were able to access our lodge at 4pm and what an amazing space. We have an adapted lodge to cater for our less mobile guests, but it is large for 8 of us and is planned to be the social hub. With a billiard table and sauna, and a large lounge area, we are hoping to all enjoy the room. The rest of the families have lodges on the other side of the site. Everyone had gone back to eat then chill.

In lodge 896 we are now playing scrabble in pairs....and excited for our weekend ahead!
