First (light) frosts

It was going to happen, it's happened - the dahlias are done for this year. 

I've dug them up and plan to try storing the tubers in the shed, without covering them with soil.

Last year, I had great success starting them in the greenhouse in March and they flowered much earlier without the early spring slug damage.
