RAIN
It was a day of memories so I took myself over to Durham, leaving Hartlepool in bright sunshine. I'd come across Prebends Bridge before the rain started and was thrilled to see a kingfisher fly underneath. By the time I got up to the Cathedral it was pouring and I ended up having to buy a rose window patterned umbrella from the Cathedral shop with a scarily explosive automatic opening mechanism so that I could get back to the car without being completely soaked. And of course the sun was still shining back at home with no sign of rain.
Extra shows me with Beloved C, 40 years ago today. He would have enjoyed the afternoon, Durham, kingfisher, rain, umbrella and all.
