My first insect blip
I would like to thank this very small insect for staying still for a long time thereby cooperating with my attempts to photograph it. Unlike the bee, which was extremely camera shy and therefore never got photographed once.
Since I got my new camera I have wanted to do some macro photography and today was my first genuine attempt at it. I have to say it is really quite difficult!
I did manage to take much sharper shots of this insect, but I liked the set up of this particular picture more than the side on shots of it sitting on a small twig. At a guess I would say that the insect is around 1cm long so difficult to get it in focus. To get this particular picture I had to turn off the auto-focus as it was having problems with all the leaves etc that were in the way. So, given that it was manually focussed I am really quite happy with it.
As my knowledge of insects is zero I have no idea what this is, so if anyone can tell me what it is called then please let me know.
