Flaming acer
The autumn colours in the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh are superb at the moment. They looked fabulous this afternoon against blue sky and sunshine. This acer was particularly spectacular.
We took our walk after lunch to celebrate Mr hazelh's birthday on Wednesday at the (new) Tollhouse restaurant. I chose chicken and ham terrine followed by scallops and black pudding; Mr hazelh worked his way through steak tartare and sea bream. It's astonishing to think that the restaurant building used to house public toilets.
Also today I gardened, added a couple of photographs to my other Blipfoto journal, and wrote a letter to my friend Sarah who lives on the Isle of Man. Meanwhile Mr hazelh worked on the first draft of our Christmas newsletter.
Exercise today: walking (12,266 steps).
