Bald Eagle
I was able to photograph this Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) hunting for fish in Crosswinds Marsh thanks to a fellow birdwatcher’s tip. They were observing the eagle with binoculars, and kindly shared its location with me. I could barely see the bird with my naked eyes, and the only way to get any image at all was to use my camera’s digital zoom feature. I knew that this would sacrifice image quality, but I am satisfied with these photos anyway. It is such a rare treat to see an eagle.
