Mpandla's Blocks

This is a community clothesline in Samora Machel. It appears Mpandla used to sell blocks here, probably salvaged from local rubble. In the background you can see some white stones arranged in a circle. This is an outdoor township church that was constructed just a few weeks ago. Each church in the township has its own colors and the congregation arrives each Sunday bedecked in a uniform of those colors. The dominant religion is Christian with a unique local mix of Xhosa lore and spirituality.
