How the other half live!

This is Chatelherault Country Park.

The pavilion buildings you are looking at are joined in the centre by a gateway. This was the Duke of Hamilton's hunting lodge and was at the edge of his estate. It was built in 1734. Hamilton Palace, on the same estate is long gone.

If this was his hunting lodge can you imagine what the Duke's palace must have looked like?
