Between fen and mountains

Traditional house

I went to the market and to Weldom to buy some hose to fit on the dishwasher. It had to be fed around the back of a cupboard to get to the outlet. An easy job that should have taken five minutes became, for various reasons, a difficult job that took half an hour. That is why I hate DIY!  You can be sure that half way through a job, a nut won't turn or something requires a special tool. I went to my tennis lesson and then onto French conversation. There was also an extra ringing practice as two of the visitors do not leave until tomorrow. The photo shows a house next to the park in the traditional style, built at the turn of the twentieth century. I learnt at French conversation that wooden houses are no longer allowed in the village for some inexplicable reason. The house used to be the home of a tennis friend until they told her to leave after her husband died. It is tied accommodation belonging to the French Forestry Commission.
