Fruitful decay.

A transformation from yesterday's sunshine to showers and dark clouds.. Went shopping in the morning leaving Roomba in action downstairs and bought all sorts of delicious and evil food and drink.  It's my birthday tomorrow and the plan was to go off photographing in Perthshire but the forecast is for heavy rain all day, there and here so I'm going to be a pig at home.  Bought cyclamen plants for my house number box and stopped at the farm track to Maspie Den on the way home.  Went to see if there was a photo to be had of some birch trees but they have grown enormously over the years and haven't coloured that well.  Fortunately I spotted this decaying tree stump which I liked much better.  By the time I got home and unpacked all my goodies I was glad to lie on the sofa and cosset my knees for a bit. They've stood up well to today's walking so they deserve a rest.
