Pond skater

I had a frustrating butterfly walk this morning - plenty of the common species, including my first Speckled Woods of the year, but none of the species like Grizzled Skipper and Green Hairstreak that other people are starting to report. However, I was pleased to see lots of 'pond life' in some very small flooded ditches, including plenty of these pond skaters walking on the water.
