Say hello to Quaver
U3A meeting this morning. I woke in the night to lashing rain, but it had stopped by breakfast time. To my horror it started again with vengeance as we left home, with some thunder and lightning added in for good measure. The roads were running with excess water (pic in extra). I hate to think how much water was carried into the hall on clothing, shoes and brollies by the 100 + members.
The subject today was Guide Dogs for the Blind. Most interesting, informative and humorous.
We had an email in yesterday morning with details about the Christmas party. When we arrived to sign up we found that they were sold out and we are on the reserve list!!! The hall with tables up can only accommodate 100 members, good old health and safety!!!
On the way home by car due to the weather, we did some errands. The GP practice to drop off some books. When I had my blood test a couple of weeks ago I noticed that their book shelves were decidedly empty. They had a few more today and they looked better when I emptied my bag. On to the Coop for some essentials, then to the Vets to collect Amber’s flea and worm tablets.
Fortunately the rain had stopped by then and we were able to do the afternoon walk without another soaking.
After the busy day yesterday, I was unable to resist nodding off for a couple of short naps on the settee with Amber cuddled up, when we sat down.
