Just a Sunday Drive In the Country

The Octoberfest celebration last night went quite well. This morning, we were awake before the 5:30 alarm so we got up and were ready to leave by 6:30. We had minimal traffic the entire trip, even when we crossed the Chesapeake Bay bridge. There are many large farms on the Maryland Eastern shore and in Delaware including lots of chicken farms. We traveled through quaint small towns and simple communities, usually the best places to live. Getting into the sports complex was a bit tricky but we arrived around 30 minutes early. They lost the first game 4-3 but won the other two; 5-2 and 8-3. The only downer was the concessions. The chicken sandwiches were pre-made, dry and had no condiments. Two sandwiches and one small order of fries was $29. Outrageous. You were not allowed to bring your own picnic. But, Brooklyn’s team won as well so the good outweighed the not so good. We sat in the rain for much of the first two games but found a parking spot right in front of the field for game three. Parker was fine with our decision to stay in the car. We got out a few times but I was unable to get any pictures. By then, the rain had really picked up and the wind was blowing it sideways. Barring any issues, we should get home by 8:30. Dinner will be at a tasty BBQ restaurant near Annapolis. Thanks for the visit. Sure hope you weekend was as special as ours. “WE TRAVEL NOT TO ESCAPE LIFE, BUT FOR LIFE NOT TO ESCAPE US.” – UNKNOWN
