Three out of three
This morning I managed to track down the third sculpture by Graeme Mitcheson that features on the North Arden Heritage Trail. This one is called 'Tom' and it was installed on Ansley village green in December 2009.
The various scenes represent Ansley's heritage and natural environment - from mines to railways and ribbons and from Great Crested Newts to conkers and brooks. The central image, 'Tom' shows a man torn between the dragon and the lamb and it represents the struggle of good against evil. It is based on the Norman carving in St Laurence's Church, Ansley. You can see close up details of the sculpture HERE.
