IT'S MONO MONDAY
This shot is from Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, USA. Clearly, there's been some erosion going on.

This is primarily sandstone but it has clay associated with it, predominantly Bentonite, and when it gets wet it's really slippery.....so much so that even walking on it on a level surface will have you falling down in seconds if you try to move.

This is primarily in the Badlands area and it got that name because if you were stuck in a low area when it was wet, there's NO WAY you could ever climb out of the hole. Just too slippery. Imagine climbing to the top of this small hill on water infused Bentonite the consistency of snot. You can imagine the trouble you'd be in.

For any geologists out there, or for the curious, you can read more about it here: https://www.nps.gov/thro/learn/nature/geologicformations.htm
Thanks to fellow racecar photographer and friend PhD geologist Tim for the above information. It's good to be friends with people who know things.
