Spreading the cost
I parked and rode to Cambridge to buy a black (with a white pattern, as it turned out) dress to wear to the funeral next week. I normally wear navy blue to funerals because I have a pair of smart navy shoes. But that’s family funerals. It doesn’t feel right to wear navy for this one.
I also got some earrings: silver sleepers with a dangling leaf to match the pattern on the dress.
Afterwards, I went to Tesco, where they explained why they stock Christmas stuff so early in the year: it’s to ‘spread the cost’. So now you know.
