Halloween Apples
The plan today was to spend as much time in the garden as possible. First job was to pick the apples and see if any of the windfall was edible. Came away with a surprisingly large haul, but the apples would likely be in better condition by giving the tree a bit of TLC. Unfortunatly the rain came in and I got the winter bedding potted up and a bit of leaf sweeping but not much else done.
The rest of the afternoone was spent on apple prep - did two big pans of stewed apple with all the ones that were a bit bruised, cut or nibbled. Got a bowl full of eaters and then stored the rest in a crate in parchmens paper in the garage. Here's where we hope there's no mice in there! (Though our neighbours did say that their cat had previously cleared out a rat's nest)
Quite liked how these apples appeared to have a bit of a halloweeny grin. Keep on hoping for glimpse of the northern lights but not seen anything yet.
