Pumpkin carving

It's a few years since I have carved a pumpkin with J, and I wasn't really enthusiastic, but once we started, it was fun. She designed the face, drawing directly onto the rind with a felt tip pen, and I cut it out. I insisted she keep it simple - in years gone by, I have carved Oods, Cybermen and other assorted Dr Who monsters,  It's one of our Polar Bear pumpkins, with light golden flesh and a pale, creamy yellow rind. They make excellent soup, and can grow very big, though this year we only have one really large one.
