'Died On My Feet'
This 'Blip' is all about me!
On March 18th I was in Barcelona, Clare however had heard of the England Running 0To3 programme and signed us up.
The aim is in eight weeks to take a complete couch potato and get them to run three miles in a respectable time.
Those who have followed my 'Blips' will know that I ran regularly in the gym, road running therefore came as a real eye opener and I found it hard going.
Having missed the first week I then did weeks two, three, four and five with one extra run thrown in. In week six I felt ill, week seven I was recovering following the Army v NAVY rugby week-end so it came as a bit of a surprise that following a days surfing yesterday I found an e-mail from England Running telling me that today, Bank Holiday Monday, was 'exam' day.
It was with some trepidation that I pitched at 18:45 for the warm up and off we set.
I ran 3.25 miles in 42 minutes, averaging just under 14 minutes a mile but at 60 I was by far the oldest participant.
So tonight I am quite pleased with myself, sixty years old and overweight but I achieved what I set out to do.
