Murray Mouth

This is place where the mighty Murray River meets the sea....you can see the waves breaking in the background....behind me to my left out of shot is the calmer river water.

The beauty of this place takes your breath away...and the realisation of the thousands of kms the water has travelled through three states to get to this point.

A few years ago the mouth almost closed due to severe drought. Thankfully that time has passed.

There is serenity here and space all around.

I could have used almost any of the shots I took today. They all tell a different story but I chose this one as you can actually see the river and the ocean beyond it...and I like the clouds too.
