Bridges

Rose again for the sunrise this morning and walk on the beach.  It was mild, breezy, fairly clear and comfortable in my coat.

After breakfast headed to Berwick upon Tweed.  The weather had radically altered, dropping several degrees to 7 and the wind added to the chill.  We'd decided to walk on the old bridge which crosses the River Tweed - main blip.

Extra: the railway viaduct through the arch of the new bridge  and the new bridge.  The old and new bridges and viaduct all link Berwick and Tweedmouth

Plan was to go to Berwick Market and the handmade paper shop TideKettle Paper.  Sadly the market had one stall selling day-glow jackets and knicknacks.  The stallholder informed the rest were on holiday, a fact not mentioned on the website.  We found a baker and bought cheese and onion pasties and bread. OH bought some samples of handmade paper.

Returned to cottage feeling cold.  Ate pasties with salad and made hot drinks to warm up. Started raining.  Put heating on which over-warmed the small cottage. Turned it off and went for a walk on the beach.

It was blowing hard.  Water on the sand was skittering over it, rock pools were active with ripples and the waves were roaring to the shore.  It was exhilarating.

Looks like tonight's temperature will be in single figures.  Well, mild evenings couldn't last.  Temperature expected to be warmer tomorrow.

Dining in tonight, roasted squash and orange pepper risotto.

Pleasant evening everyone.
