Sunrise
Thursday October 27
We got up early this morning to catch the sunrise from the Rod and Reel pier on the bayside. We also got to see one or two dolphins. After breakfast, we drove up to the northern tip of the island, known as Bean Point, one of my favourite parts of the island. It is a huge expanse of sand around the tip, which attracts masses of seabirds, but not so many people, partly because it’s not quite as easy to get to as other beaches, and probably also because it’s not such a safe area for swimming, because of currents. We had read online that Hurricane Ian had eroded away some of the sand from this area, but fortunately it didn’t seem too obvious to us. There was more cloud cover than previous days, though still very warm, and this led to some interesting light effects. We spent some time by and in the pool around midday, before going down to the beach later on for a final ocean swim. I’ve added a couple of extras.
