2022 Wednesday — Lunch with a Friend
Having lunch with my friend Karen is one of the highlights of returning to SoCal for a much needed visit. I’ve known Karen since about 1980. Our history is diverse, colorful, full of memories, and filled with emotion.
I’ve known her as a new bride, a mom to young children, a wedding hostess at the church we both attended, a women’s retreat director, a fellow family camper, a widow, a bride again, a sincere and serious Christ follower, a dedicated prayer, and in many other roles.
We had not seen each other since early June; reconnecting was fun. Learning what she is involved in currently is interesting. Catching-up on what her adult children are doing is meaningful. Hearing the backstory of the recent cruise she and her hubby enjoyed on the Mississippi River was wonderful.
I have zillions of acquaintances; but close friends, friends who share history with me, are very few in my life currently.
Our lunch was delicious; the time together was nourishing.
From Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
