Honey fungus

I went to art this morning then did my shopping.

This afternoon I went for a walk around the village.  My blip is just part of a huge mass of honey fungus growing where a tree used to be and will be on the roots and remainder of any trunk under the grass.  The tree used to be quite a landmark entrance to the village but now the fungus has taken  up that position.
