Carol's ramblings

Day trip out

After breakfast, into the car (me driving this time!) and we headed for Holyhead on Anglesey. (We needed fuel, rather than pay services prices, found a local garage and managed to save 15p a litre). Sun was shining.

Headed for the Marina at Holyhead - crossing over to Anglesey the rain was starting and gave us a double rainbow, very pretty. Once in Holyhead, found the Maritime Museum (photo of whale teeth and eardrums - weird. http://www.holyheadmaritimemuseum.co.uk/ This also included a walk around an air raid shelter with lots of memorabilia from WW2. We worth a visit. Stopped off at the bistro attached to it before heading off again.

Next trip on to the town with the longest name in the world (how to say it is under the name). The sky was looking quite dark by now. Popped in the gift shop to look around (free parking if you went in the shop).

Next stop, through rain, on to Bangor - all sing along https://youtu.be/4wm_JzxrD-U. Sat in the car, pouring rain, in between wipers photo of a boat in high tide. Set off again.

Final stop Llandudno - stopped along the promenade and took a stroll along the pier. Sun (no rain) just making its last look, seagulls big and noisy walked to the end of the pier for an ice cream. Walking back, eating our ice cream … whoosh, hubby had his ice cream forced out of his hand, seagull flew in from behind, seagull tapped him on shoulder with its feet and it then took its opportunity to take some ice cream. Ice cream and cone picked up from the floor … into the bin (he went back to get another). Walking along, stopped to look out at the sea, seagull both feet stood on my head, beak into my ice cream and off it flew. Leaving me with just cone!! (That went into the bin). - Lesson learnt (two fold), don’t eat ice cream cones in Llandudno. - !

Back to the hotel, after tea, packing ready for the return trip tomorrow.
