Sheep Gathering
A morning trip to Tatton Park.
It was quiet - not many people around. Signs requested visitors to keep their distance from the deer as it’s the rut. We obliged, and only saw one roaring red deer stag, so we wondered whether it’s getting to the end of “the season”.
The sheep that graze the park were all being gathered in. We chatted to a chap who had been watching the shepherd and his four dogs manoeuvring the sheep towards the enclosure at the side of the site of the Old Hall. There must have been something like 400 animals. Here the process of persuading them to move up the ramp into the waiting lorry and trailer is in progress.
