As time goes by

A dreary wet day until very late afternoon, so an opportunity to catch up on indoor tasks which keep getting moved to he bottom of the imaginary list. One such was to try and move all family history, documents, photographs, books etc. etc to one place from their various  locations. Much of the stuff had not really been examined since parental house clearances years ago, and I came across these books amongst many others. The one in the foreground has a print date of 1895, the other is not dated but I'm guessing a similar era. I'm thinking the pictorial guide to the River Rhine might have been brought home by my Great Grandfather who was a mariner.
