A day in the life..

This rather monochromatic photo shows what Dan is up to in this garden area. There are four layers, the ground, then card board, then rotten logs/wood and finally leaves. He may end up putting some horse manure on the leaves as well.
This past summer the squash only did so so. The soil really isn't very good. This will greatly enhance it. The wood will take a while to decompose but he plans to plant out here next summer so it should be interesting to see what happens. You can see him heading off into the woods to get another load of rotten wood.
I planted out my allium bulbs and did various chores. It was weirdly warm and humid today.
