A funny little man
We head out Brimham Rocks this morning, not sure we would see anything as it was so foggy, fortunately we did have a small window when it clear.
Brimham Rocks (once known as Brimham Crags), is a 454 acre biological Site of Special Scientific Interest & Geological Conservation Review site.
Brimham Rocks is 8 miles from the spa town of Harrogate, on Brimham Moor in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The site is an outcrop of Millstone Grit, formed over 325 million years ago. It has small areas of birch woodland and a large area of wet and dry heath.
Site of Special Scientific status was conferred on Brimham Rocks because of the value of its geology, the upland woodland and the acidic wet & dry heath habitats that support localised and specialised plant forms. Such species include chickweed, wintergreen, cowberry, bog asphodel and three species of heather.
