Mugdock Castle
Today I met a friend for lunch and a walk in Mugdock Country Park. It was a perfect day for such activity - warm in the sun without that biting wind. We took the Castle walk as I'd blipped the castle on 15th April from the across the loch with a beautiful swan in the foreground, and wanted to search for another castle viewpoint.
I found what I was looking for when we spotted a beautiful bank of narcissi on the slopes beyond the castle walls. From that viewpoint looking back at the building the sun was directly ahead. This made it too contrasty with a light-coloured foreground subject. However I waited till the sun disappeared behind a cloud to lower contrast. The sky in the left corner looks white, but this balances with the white blooms in the opposite corner. I also used a little touch of the poster edges Photoshop filter to add a bit of punch to the foreground leaves and blooms.
