Preparations
Looking at this photo, it's difficult to envision the torrential rain through which we drove into Galway City. And the further - not quite so torrential - rain that fell as we drove home!
We had appointments at Intreo, in Galway, to get our PSC cards. Duly photographed and interviewed, our cards should be with us in about 10 working days. We took coats and brollies, and needed them as we walked down to Intreo from the car park. But we emerged some 45 minutes later to this bright sunshine.
They're setting up for a Christmas market in Eyre Square - we'll have to visit it when we get home from our little trip.
We came straight home after the interviews, as we had no particular need for any shopping, stopping off at Oranmore train station to pick up the tickets we bought online. Tomorrow we will see what the Irish train service has to offer - just over €15 each to get from Oranmore (near Galway, so on the west coast) to Dublin in the east - seems pretty good value.
This afternoon, some admin, and some sewing, and we've packed the small amount of stuff we're taking. Taxi will be here at 1030 tomorrow morning.
