Same Saturday

Good to see Sam first thing, I picked her up after her twenty + hours travelling home by coach and delivered her home.

I’d been looking forward to todays rugby, no cooking, no travelling just the match, the One & All, (2nds) v Veor then a few beers with friends watching the First XV. The 2’s match was as expected, eighty minutes of guys playing with a smile on their faces and enjoying it no matter the size of the opposition, the rain or even the result.
Sadly the first team match went pretty much as expected, another loss. It’s not so much the loss it’s that they don’t seem to be enjoying it, nine matches in and they have shipped 450+ points without reaching 100 themselves. Spectator numbers look to be down and whilst standing and enjoying a beer or three we watched the numbers in the clubhouse gradually decrease until by around 7:00pm there was hardly anyone there.
Home for dinner with Mrs S and an alcohol induced doze on the settee.
