Why are the carp slurping?

Daisy can't understand why the carp are making big slurping noises as they snaffle the bits bread off the surface on the Trent & Mersey canal.
Its lovely and hot and the fish are cruising around the surface top, you can actually see the fish in the big fishing pond behind our house from the sun beds lol trouble is the fishermen cant from the same level.
