Pond edging plants

I'm desperately trying to make a start on the pond edging plants (the edges of the pond are infested with couch grass, which I need to dig up) and I have a lot of plants heeled in nearby patiently waiting to be planted around the pond to add interest next growing season. 

Unfortunately my sciatica has meant slow progress over the last few weeks but luckily I have a friend coming to the rescue this weekend!
