Really?

Wifi should be free everywhere, at least in hostelry establishments like bars, restaurants and hotels that provide other utilities like light and heat. Would we stay in a hotel without electricity? Would we pay extra for a flushing loo? Until hostelry establishments 'get it', we will always be prone to the vicissitudes of weak or failing routers and the greater vicissitudes of mangers or staff who don't understand the magic words 'restart the blooming black box!'

So tonight it was declared free, but you had to sign up and sign in, and we just gave up...luckily 3G was available as a back up.

For my record, the year so far reveals the following:

- 39 nights spent in Barcelona
- 33 nights spent in Scotland
- 31 nights spent in Rio de Janeiro
- 21 nights spent in Cairo

The dislocation of it all does give me energy, and also a point of imaginative recreation that allows me to see daily life down to the most mundane of details like kerbstone hazards in 'the other three' as I walk down the streets of 'the fourth'. Maybe it's a form of remote witnessing.
