Portrait of a shy young man

This is a picture of a shy young man who didn’t know he was good looking because nobody told him, except his mother and he knew she was biased. (She dotes on him. He has never met his father.) He is twenty years old and he loves that studded shirt-tailed denim jacket. He must have just had a cut and blow dry, because his hair didn’t always look that good. He went to student gigs, but communicated only with his bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale. In this picture he seems to be contemplating his future. Now he only contemplates his past. I wrote a story about him in which he got the girl. (He didn't get the girl.)
That looks too big. Best seen large, which ironically means smaller.
