Sanderlings

Such picturesque little waders. Up at the Bay of Birsay again. Loads of birds including 200+ golden plover, 15 snow bunting, first purple sandpipers more than ones and twos (c40), turnstone, dunlin, ringed plover, redshank, oystercatcher, wigeon, red-breasted merganser, etc. I was watching 7 harbour seal when a big grey seal bull swam into the geo . The smaller seals left unobtrusively.  A few dogwalkers and I did like the 3 collies (extra)
