New toy
The weather was rubbish today which is fortunate as I spent most of the day trying to resolve a problem.
Warning - Boring story follows. Stop reading now if you have a low boredom threshold.
Last night we realised I was being overcharged for my mobile phone. I have a good deal, limitless calls and texts and far more data than I need all for a small fixed price. When I check the bill I find I have been charged random £1.50's throughout the month. Further investigations showed I was paying to receive SMS text messages. I don't know what they are because I block all rubbish like this but that does not stop them charging me.
I tried texting STOP as recommended by others similarly afflicted but with out success. I contact 3, my phone company. They are very helpful, over several calls they provided UK land line numbers for the company charging me, all of which did not work. Having discussed this with them further, possibly rather forcibly, I was escalated to their complaints team. They went through everything again, were very sympathetic, promised the charges would stop immediately and they would try and recoup the money I have already had taken, allowing them a couple of weeks to do this. It appears to have been going on for 5 months so not a small sum is involved.
Whilst this was progressing I received a call from a company in Georgia (USA I assume not the one south of Russia). They said they had a missed call from me, checked my number, found out which company was charging me (in the UK) and told them to call me about a refund. I assume one of the three land line numbers I had been given that did not work somehow recorded my number. I have not had the call as yet.
It seems that I must have inadvertently clicked on something on the computer screen to start this whole farrago. I don't know what it was but very much wish I hadn't. Its been a very frustrating day.
Blip photo taken very late in the rain with poor light. I do like my new toy, I will now be able to lift the various pots scattered around the garden to move to winter storage. The fat tyres should make it easier travelling over a very wet lawn. But not in the next few days as the rain is forecast to continue.
