Unusual Remembrance poppy display

I had another long drive for the hospice today. The difficulty was the appointment was at 8.30am and we allow two hours for the drive. A 6.30 pickup meant a 5.00am get up for me. It also meant a disturbed night for wife1 as she had to make sure I did wake up at 5.00am.
Anyway the drive was done and he was back home by just after 11.00. This is the war memorial in his village and I spotted after dropping him off. Not seen anything like this previously but it certainly is very effective.
Pottered in the greenhouse this afternoon, mainly to prevent me dropping off to sleep. So far I have made it til 8.15 pm and am still awake, not sure how much longer though.
Interestingly the guy I was driving still goes to work so going out at 6.30 in the dark was not exceptional for him. I am lucky in many ways, not having to get up so early is just one of them
