With knobs on

We found a box of assorted knobs. (I think packing for moving house could supply us with blips for the next two months at least.)
 
“Same to you with knobs on.” It’s an expression my mother used, and I haven’t heard it for decades. MountGrace remembers her mother using it too. It’s a way of turning a disparaging comment back on the speaker.
