Medlar

Here are some very strange looking medlars from our tree. They are such a strange looking fruit but I thought they looked rather autumnal. They are a very ancient fruit and were cultivated in Roman times. They can apparently be eaten, I think we did try it once but we didn’t really like it so they now end up in the compost.
