Exploring
I (Annie) went exploring in Tallinn today. The TV Tower was great to go up - interesting history, and great views (just not today, the snow meant I couldn’t see Tallinn from it, let alone Finland). Fun to go up, with an eclectic mix at the top of a children’s ball pit, Motörhead on the sound system, and an artist’s exhibition of erotic drawings.
I met up with Rosie in the afternoon and we explored the coastline with the concrete majesty of the Linnahall and the Paterei prison. It was -5 degrees, so we headed into the maritime museum for hot chocolates.
In the evening we were joined by Rosie’s flatmate Elena, and we had a great traditional Estonian meal out. Our starter was a row of shots: flavoured beetroot, horseradish, red currant and pepper. Unusual, and fabulous company!
A very lovely day all round.
