Narva
I (Annie) took a train from Tallinn this morning to Narva, an Estonian town right on the border with Russia. It was a fascinating place to walk round - quiet, very cold (I saw -7 degrees clock up), and a bit sinister. I did wonder how much of the sinister was imagined in my head - but the icy cold river separating the border (in the extra) helped to emphasise it.
The church was beautiful, in a sea of otherwise quite imposing and austere buildings. I found a lovely little cafe for lunch and to warm back up.
An evening train back to Tallinn, and some very delicious cocktails with Rosie in the evening. The cold and snow really suits Tallinn’s old town - just magical.
