Say cheese Wallace
We stopped off at the Wensleydale cheese shop on the way to our friends home for their 30th wedding anniversary. We have been there before but it is always a delight to browse the vast array of cheeses on offer. Afterwards we had to go across from Wensleydale to Swaledale (extra) crossing over a pass with the wonderful name of the "butter tubs". The name is thought to come from the 65ft deep limestone pot holes by the side of the road where farmers used to store their butter on hot days.
