Out of sync

The sort of morning for staying in and making soup, so I did. A big pot of French lentil, most of which is now in the freezer in two-portion containers. Also prepped some veg ready to make more soup tomorrow - it's good to have a selection of flavours.

Forced myself out into the gloom for a walk down to the river this afternoon. Wishing I'd taken the camera, as the heron was posing nicely on the weir! Passed this aubretia - it seems a little out of sync, flowering in late November. Though lots of things seem out of sync these days...
