Winter sun
An early start on a cold and frosty morning! Sadly time to say au revoir to Lucy, who we waved off on a train from Berwick just after 8.00am. The weekend passed all too quickly! As MrM and I drove home from the station the sun was coming up. No safe place to stop, so this shot was taken through the van window as we drove along.
A busy day. Finished the last little bit of unpacking, did three loads of washing (the spare room looks like a laundry...), took two big bags full of 'stuff' to the Hospice charity shop, and accompanied MrM to the recycling centre, among other things.
After all the faffing around with spare parts for an apparently now-defunct shower, having a new shower fitted proved remarkably simple. The shower that I ordered on Wednesday arrived by courier on Friday (the ladies in the shop downstairs kindly took it in, as we were still away). Under the company's 'product refresh' scheme, they would arrange fitting as part of the deal, and I'd expected to have to wait a while. But just before lunch a phone call. The plumber, who was on his way from Morpeth to Glasgow, apologised profusely for the short notice but he could call in en route and fit our shower. He'd be here in an hour. By mid-afternoon the shower was in place - wonderful!
