An iris! In November

I walked round the garden first thing with someone and we saw this.  Bit battered after the rain, V said it was more upright when he noticed it earlier in the week. Very odd at this time of year, last flush rather than new growth I think, cooked up in the August heatwave but then there’s a lot of new growth on dying back perennials.   We need a frost to knock everything back a bit!

Bought some knocked back wallflowers and pansies in Hilliers in unfashionably bright colours first thing - all that was left.

After that had zooms and casting conversations in the morning before watching a channel 4 briefing in the afternoon.

In early from the barn and watched ep 2 of The English.
